... is deeply rooted in, but not limited by, the Christian tradition. While raised in the Lutheran Church, her journey has opened up the vitality of all faiths.

"Every true religion seeks the same source. How we get there is part of the richness and variety of God's leading," Heidi says.

Heidi earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Washington, a Master of Divinity at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California, and was ordained in 1991. She has served in parish ministry, and outdoor and camping ministry, and is a well-received retreat leader, speaker and dancer.

Heidi has received spiritual direction since 1994 and felt a call to expand her ministry through contemplative life. She began her studies in contemplative living and spiritual direction in 2014 and was certified by SoulStream in 2018. Heidi is a member of Spiritual Directors International. Additionally, she is familiar with the wisdom of 12-step recovery programs.

In her spare time, Heidi enjoys textile arts, gardening, and hanging with her beloved husband Dave and Goldendoodle Bailey. The trio make their home on Fidalgo Island, Washington.

The Living Edge Center’s logo...

...tree slice represents the relationship between our outer and inner selves. The tree rings represent all of the different experiences of our lives—the droughts, the fertile times, the traumas. The very center is our intimate relationship with God, our true self. The bark is symbolic of our connection with the outer world. Its cracks and rough places are part of the whole. The living edge of the tree is found just below the surface—below the bark. Our living edges can be places of vulnerability and vitality. The Living Edge Center for Spiritual Growth is symbolic of the many different seasons of our lives and the importance of every part to the whole.
